Much of my work, especially on the commercial side, is heavily manipulated with layering, masking, etc.. Perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to ‘Miksang’ (Explanation in the Miksang gallery). It’s very pure … no manipulation other than standard raw adjustments and no relying on distortion of lenses … wide for drama or telephoto for selective focus. Images should reflect what we can see with our normal vision. These from a visit to Home Depot yesterday.

  1. Oh, I really like these! The crisp lines and sharp colors are a pleasure.

Sorry I haven’t come to visit. I am sometimes near to abandoning my own blog — just too hard to keep up with it — and so haven’t had much time to visit here either. But I am going to spend some time now with all your wonderful photos. I’m so glad you continue to share with us!

  2. never heard about the miksang term before. thanks for teaching me again. i love the idea of pure imaging, of course you surely exoected me to 😉 your examples are awesome in texture, frame and composition. the ornamental effect of the architecture details represents the pureness of photography at its best. have a good sunday night, larry.
