Actually, it looks more like a tuna or maybe a spaceship. No blur added. All of the blurred areas are the product of shooting straight down with a 100 macro, wide open at 2.8. I love exploring plants in this way for the dreamlike world it creates. With most of my work being shot with camera glued to a tripod, it’s refreshing to shoot ‘freehand’ and in fact since composition must be explored through the lens, I find the tripod far too restrictive.
Freehand? Wow. Truly impressive stillness you have developed. For me it depends on time of day and how much sleep I have had. 😉 Very lovely images, and I do like that dreamy blur.
Great shots!!! I know what you mean about the freedom of working without a tripod. You must have a steady hand.
