A Waiting Game

Exterior at dusk

Exterior at dusk

This from a shoot on Friday for one of our favorite clients, RLPS. The sky was overcast while we were shooting interiors, but then just before sunset, the sun broke through. Knowing we needed an exterior shot I scrambled outside with my backup camera in time to catch this wonderful light and fantastic clouds. The sunset exposure didn’t take very long to capture, but that left the windows black. Turning the room lights on was the answer, but that wouldn’t work until the ambient light fell considerably … and thus, the waiting game. Waiting in a cold, North wind to be exact. Thankfully my assistant had a warm coat and was willing to man the camera while I went back inside to continue shooting. It would be another 45 minutes or so before it was dark enough to shoot for the room lights. Thanks Fred! Thanks also to Marcia and Jodi, from RLPS, for running floor to floor turning every light on in the building.
