Ed and Jeanie are our neighbors when we visit Maine. They’re great, hard working people and Ed was kind enough to allow me to photograph his shop and I just love workspaces. Staging and tidying up is certainly appropriate for commercial photography, but the soul of a space is discovered in how it’s used and when it comes to work areas, my goal is to capture it’s true character. Except for moving a barrel to reveal the work bench and raising the blinds to show off the arched window muntins, I didn’t touch a thing. It’s complex image, with lots going on and may not read all that well as presented in this small format, but I had a great time making it and feel privileged to know Ed … and Jeanie. Thanks to both of you!
