A few more from The Village at Rockville. This is in the assisted living wing … senior care as it should be.

Confession time. In the 30 years that I’ve been photographing architecture, I can count on one hand the number of times that I’ve replaced the scene outside a window. The shoot was this past Tuesday … winter, very early morning, raining, and just so very dreary outside that the view through the windows brought these shots to their knees. It was an easy cut, paste, and mask as there were clean lines around the windows. It is after all, commercial photography. Every scene is staged, lit, and manipulated, so a little more staging outside the windows doesn’t stray too far over the line … at least in my book. Deceptive? Not really. Even though we were within an hour of DC, the site was heavily wooded and when we pulled into the parking lot there were half a dozen deer grazing on the lawn. These may not be Rockville trees, but they’re first cousins.
