Lancaster Air Show I
Our local air show took place about a week ago and fellow photographer, Don Reese, invited me to join him in shooting the planes after the events regular hours. We both wanted to do light-painting, something that requires near darkness, and gaining this kind of access is no easy task, so kudos and thanks to Don for pulling it off. You can check out his stunning work over at Donald Reese Photography.
I dusted off the Nikon for these and most are painted at dusk with a mixture of flash and flashlight. The plane above is an F-18 Super Hornet and it’s pilot, Lt Steven Slaugh, happens to be from this area and he graciously agreed to spend the evening with us while we photographed it.
It was perfect weather for the event and with such a wide array of sheet-metal … well, it doesn’t get much better than that for a photographer!
Turned out just perfect. thanks so much
Nice Job!
