Maine … Marcia and I both have a special fondness for it, especially Mount Desert Island and Acadia. We haven’t been there for a few years, but this past October we were fortunate to make the trip and hit the color at it’s peak. I can honestly say I’ve never seen color this intense and though, for my photography I like bold color in small doses, it was a was a treat to experience a true New England Fall. Above is one of the seldom visited gems, Lower Haddock Pond, near Northeast Harbor.

Over the next few weeks I’ll share some of my impressions of what we discovered and hopefully it will encourage you to visit this magnificent island.
