Still working on light-painting black vehicles. For the most part I’m happy with what I’m getting, but consistency is all important when someone’s paying for the work. If these shots hadn’t worked out for some reason I’d be fine with walking away with … ‘Well, at least I learned something’. Client’s aren’t interested in me ‘learning something’ when they’re picking up the tab. I’m kind of supposed to have that in the bag already. Sooo … I’ll keep looking for big, black, shinny things on wheels.

  1. Black seems to be a nemesis for photographers. Whether its sheet metal or fur, you somehow pull this off so well, even in these practice sessions! I’m glad we could help out for this project, it’s always great to see the behind the scenes thoughts and setup that goes in to one of your shoots. If you need more practice I can get you a GSXR motorcycle, or a Pierce fire truck, both about 50/50 dark blue/ black and red/black.

  2. When the “practice” part can’t get any better, you can comfortably move into the “performance” part——– you’re there !!!
