The Village at Orchard Ridge
Last week we spend a couple of days in Winchester, VA shooting a new retirement community for RLPS architects. We usually need interior and exterior views and trying to get both during one visit is always a challenge. Interiors require working to the schedules of the client, the facility, and our own calendar, so a date is set weeks in advance. And try as I might, I still have no influence over the weather. This time, with clouds and rain in the forecast, I didn’t have high hopes for cooperation from the skies, but as I’ve said before … sometimes you get lucky and you’d damned sure better be ready. About 20 minutes after we arrived and while we were unloading, the clouds parted for all of 20 minutes and adding to our good fortune … the orientation of the buildings was perfect for a few shots.
When the sun retreated we dodged showers to grab this small courtyard (Below). Unfortunately, but understandably, clients want images shortly after completion of the project and landscaping hasn’t had a chance to mature. But, that’s just the nature of our work. A year from now this will be just the place for morning coffee.
Tomorrow … some interiors.
The church/fountain picture is beautiful. The clouds add another dimension. 🙂
